It’s officially award season. Yesterday marked the 76th Golden Globe Awards and it was a star-studded, magnificent, and incredibly fashionable event. Our team got together to select frames for a handful of this year’s nominees. Frames were chosen for either the particular role played by the nominee, the time period or the composition and genre of the film. All frames mentioned are available at our Galleria location.

Mahershala Ali, “Green Book” – Won Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture

Featured Frame: Salt Max in Black Shadow

An iconic look from the 1960s, these frames are fitting for the era and Mahershala’s face shape. Bold, wide rim, square frames in a polished black are timeless and on trend adding to the worldliness and poise of Mahershala’s character.

Olivia Colman, “The Favourite” – Won Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy

Featured Frame: Matsuda M2022 in Champagne

These frames are elegant and regal, absolutely fit for a queen. The softness of the champagne color with delicate gold accents is simply aristocratic.

Antonio Banderas, “Genius: Picasso” – Nominated for Best Performance by an Actor, Motion Picture Made for Television

Featured Frame: Lunor Classic Round in Ant. Silver

We chose these Lunor frames for Banderas, playing Pablo Picasso, for their timeless aesthetic. Round and rimless, with a thin yet strong, silver bridge and temples, the style is both refined and inventive, truly capturing Picasso’s creativity and style.

Bradley Cooper, “A Star is Born” – Nominated for Best Performance by an Actor, Drama, and Best Director, Motion Picture

Featured Frame: Gotti Danio in GLA-HAV

Why it Works: Is there a more iconic and recognizable frame shape than the aviator? Gotti’s lightweight take on a modern classic is the perfect match for Cooper’s character, Jack, particularly in the golden hue. The frames showcase his brio and fame, and the gold color a staple of the Los Angeles aesthetic.

Constance Wu, “Crazy Rich Asians” – Nominated for Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy

Featured Frame: Leisure Society Eze in Gold with Gold Mirror Lenses

Why it Works: These frames are dripping in luxury. A multi-dimensional crossbar coupled with oversized lenses create the perfect balance of style and sophistication. The gold mirror lenses add an air of confidence and complement Wu’s skin color.

Elisabeth Moss, “The Handmaid’s Tale” – Nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Drama

Featured Frame: Lunor 600 in 03

Why it Works: The muted cateye shape adds femininity but has the simplicity to help you get down to business. The light havana gradient (03) works with Elisabeth’s coloring and adds a bold pop to an otherwise basic costume.

Lupita Nyong’o, “Black Panther” – Nominated for Best Motion Picture, Drama

Featured Frame: Gotti Ezick in Ash

Why it Works: Futuristic and powerful, these frames complement Lupita’s character and facial structure. The angular frames and textured surface are dimensional and fierce, while the cat eye shape adds a touch of delicacy.

The Fiji Water Girl

Featured Frame: Gotti Devine in Black Matte

Why it Works: The fine, thin, oversized, black titanium frames are the perfect accessory to complete her ensemble and highlight her piercing brown eyes.
